The stops we'd build a Prague trip around

One honest pick per place, and why. Open any for the full verdict. The planner arranges these into your days for you.

  • Prague Castle Worth it

Worth it, but go in with a plan and a ticket bought ahead.

  • St. Vitus Cathedral Worth it

Go. The interior is the standout room in Prague, and the colored light through Mucha's window is what sticks with you.

  • Prague Astronomical Clock Tourist trap

Mixed. The hourly show is the most overrated minute in Prague, so do not build your day around it.

  • Old Jewish Cemetery Worth it

Go, and treat it as more than a photo stop.

  • Petřín Lookout Tower Worth it with caveats

Worth it for the view, with an asterisk for 2026: with the funicular closed you have to earn it on foot or by tram.

  • Strahov Monastery Library Worth it with caveats

Worth it if you know what you are buying: a doorway view of two of the most beautiful library halls anywhere, not a…

  • Vyšehrad Worth it

One of the best low-effort escapes from tourist Prague.

Good to know before you plan

Where we would spend carefully, or not at all.

  • Prague Astronomical Clock Tourist trap Mixed. The hourly show is the most overrated minute in Prague, so do not build your day around it.
  • Petřín Lookout Tower Worth it with caveats Worth it for the view, with an asterisk for 2026: with the funicular closed you have to earn it on foot or by tram. Go on a clear day, time it for late light, and pair it with Strahov so the climb up the hill pays off twice.
  • Strahov Monastery Library Worth it with caveats Worth it if you know what you are buying: a doorway view of two of the most beautiful library halls anywhere, not a walk through them. The corridor curiosities and the monastery brewery round it out, and the front terrace view is free.
  • Dancing House Worth it with caveats As architecture it is a genuine landmark and worth seeing, but be realistic: the best of it is the exterior, which is free from the bridge across the river.
